Important Note
Our online ovulation test instructions are here to provide you with the simple and detailed information needed to do testing.
However, if you do not follow the instructions carefully, the tests will not work or results can be invalid.
Please read the online ovulation test instructions completely before beginning to test.
Ovulation Test Overview
Ovulation tests are used to obtain quick visual, semi-quantitative results for early detection of ovulation surge, which occurs 24-48 hours prior to the release of mature ovum, when the patient is most likely to become pregnant.
They work by detecting Luteinizing Hormone (LH) in urine samples, which is released prior to ovulation.
Preparation
Prior to using an ovulation test it is necessary to determine the length of your menstrual cycle.
This is the number of days from the first day of menstrual bleeding to the day before the next bleeding starts again.
Refer to the following chart to determine when you should start testing. The first day of bleeding is day 1.
Perform testing 6 days in a row or until the LH surge (darkest test line) has been detected.

Urine Collection
- Collect urine in a clean plastic or glass container.
- Do not use first morning urine samples as LH is synthesized in your body early in the morning (the best time to collect your urine is between 10am - 8pm).
- Make sure to test daily at approximately the same time.
- Allow the urine to reach room temperature (wait at least 5 minutes) before testing.
Test Instructions
Please follow the instructions to apply the urine sample to each specific test.
The results will be read the same thru each tests test window.
- Bring the test pouch to room temperature (18-30°C) . To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch.
- Immerse the test strip into the urine with the white absorbent arrow end pointing towards the sample.
- Do not immerse past the MAX (maximum) line.
- Remove the strip after 3 seconds and lay the strip flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
- Do not immerse for longer than 5 seconds.
- Allow 5 minutes to complete the test reaction.
- Bring the test pouch to room temperature (18-30°C) . To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch.
- Use the provided dropper to collect some sample urine.
- Carefully apply 4 drops to the round well in the sample intake area by gently squeezing the dropper.
- Lay the cassette on a flat, clean horizontal surface.
- Allow 5 minutes to complete the test reaction.
- Bring the test pouch to room temperature (18-30°C) . To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch.
- Remove the cap covering the sample intake area.
- Apply the urine sample to the test by doing only 1 of the following:
- Put the absorbent tip (with 5 small openings) directly in urine stream for at least 7-10 seconds to allow the sample into the testing device.
- Collect urine into a clean container and dip half of the absorbent pad into it for at least 10 seconds.
- Place the cap back on the midstream and lay the midstream on a flat, clean horizontal surface.
- Allow 5 minutes to complete the test reaction.
ALL TESTS - Test results may appear sooner, but you should wait the full 5 minutes before reading test. Color bands will appear, and you may interpret your results. Do NOT read results after 10 minutes.
Test Results
Negative (No LH surge): One color band appears on the top control region. No band apparent on the test region. Results should be crisp and clear.
Positive (LH surge): If two color bands are visible and the test band is nearly equal to or darker than the control band, the ovulation will likely occur within 24-48 hours. To increase likelihood of pregnancy, the best time for egg fertilization is between 24 hours and 48 hours.
Invalid (uncertain results): Uncertain test results should be discarded in case there is no visible control line. Make sure to follow the above specified instructions. Repeat test with a new test device.
Precautions
- This test is designed for single in vitro diagnostic use only.
- See a qualified specialist, or doctor to confirm all results
- Do not use test kit beyond expiry date printed on package.
- Keep away from moisture, direct sunlight, and children
